The Every Woman Counts program will be suspended Jan. 1, and when it starts up again July 2, 2010, California Department of Public Health director Dr. Mark Horton says it won’t serve women under the age of 50.

Previously, to be eligible for the program women had to be 40 years old.

Horton blamed declining state tobacco tax revenues and increasing demand for screenings for the cuts.

When I first heard about that government-sponsored report saying women only need mammograms starting at the age of 50 instead of 40, I remember thinking that it was a bs “discovery” being used by the government to cut corners for what they need to provide people in a tough economy.  Thus, this news that a government-sponsored program cut back mammograms is no surprise, but it makes me nervous for the women who depend on these programs for health care and who could have gotten checked in time to catch breast cancer.  I wonder if those scientists can sleep at night.

My day started by calling my rental management company to find out hey what’s the deal with my month of free rent?  I’ll spare you the details mainly they never renovated in the 10 years i’ve been here and i made them do it.  Although i was here the whole time and pretty sure i got sick from the long exposure to paint fumes.  This was way back in september.  For having to miss work and deal with all that crap i was given a free months rent although it never appeared on my bill so i just didn’t pay last month thought it would get their attention.  It did!  They tried to evict me! Ha on you guys totally don’t have a case or a leg to stand on.  Took the day off work to deal with the issue.

The good news they don’t want me to move out, phew neither do I and they finally remember the whole month off thing.  So now i get to stay in my apartment horray it really is a great deal for the size and location.

Then i was fired up and called time warner demanding they take off the crap HBO and SHOWTIME which has nothing on lately but dexter.  They said wait don’t leave we’ll give you a lockdown price for 2 years and free showtime for a year. hmmmm i hesitated, and hbo.  I’m listening…..so got a lock down for 99.00 a month cable, wifi, hbo, showtime.  Yeah time warner you are getting yours finally.

Now i’m selling stuff like the extra futon matress in the spare room and an antique green dresser and the people are flocking to it.  But if any of you tumblers want them let me know $25 for the mattress pick it up and $25 for the dresser needs love but still really cool and big.
